Wedding DNA: a 5-min AI quiz for Filipino couples

TL;DR. Wedding DNA is our 5-minute, 10-question planning quiz at storia.ph. It is free, requires no signup to see the moodboard, and uses AI to give you a personalized starting point for your Filipino wedding instead of a blank page or a generic template. Storia is the first AI SaaS wedding-planning platform built for the Philippines. This post explains what that claim means, how the AI behind the quiz actually works, and what the product does not yet do.

What Wedding DNA does, in 60 seconds

You answer 10 questions. They cover the cohort (Catholic, Civil, Christian, Muslim Nikah, INC, Tsinoy, interfaith), the date, the budget range, the mood you want, the priority cues, and a few more shape questions. The whole thing is a 5-minute interaction designed to be doable on a phone during a jeep ride.

When you submit, the AI reads your answers and gives you a Wedding DNA result: a 4-image custom moodboard, a palette card, a one-sentence narrative for your wedding, and a starting list of vendor categories that fit your shape. You see the moodboard before you create an account. If it looks like your wedding, you sign up and the rest of the planning surfaces (timeline, guest list, paperwork tracker, budget worksheet, vendor screener) come online behind the same DNA.

This is what we mean by a wedding that started somewhere instead of a blank page.

How we use AI to do it

The quiz itself is not AI. The questions are static. What the AI does is read the answer combination, hold the cultural and practical context of a Filipino wedding, and generate the moodboard, palette, and narrative on the fly.

Three things have to be true for that output to be useful:

  1. The AI has to understand the cohort you actually marked. A Catholic Tagalog wedding in Bulacan is not the same shape as a Tsinoy wedding with a tea ceremony in BGC, and neither is the same as a civil registry wedding in a Cebu beach venue. We model 7 ceremony types as distinct cohorts. The AI takes the cohort as a hard constraint, not a soft preference.
  2. The visual output has to look like a Philippine wedding. Hero imagery is generated under a palette and stylist achievability layer we maintain so the moodboard reads as Filipino, not as a generic stock-image collage. Capiz, palaspas, banig, manila-paper invitations, sampaguita garlands, and the specific look of a Philippine reception venue are all in the model's vocabulary.
  3. The output has to be honest about what is achievable on your budget. A 200,000-peso wedding and a 1,500,000-peso wedding produce different moodboards. We tier vocabulary to the budget range you marked so we are not showing you a 5-star ballroom hero if you have a backyard reception planned.

The AI behind Wedding DNA uses production-grade foundation models for text and image generation, run through a Filipino-wedding-specific prompt structure we have iterated on across roughly 17 versions and three months of testing. The work is in the prompt and the validation pipeline more than in the model. Specific AI sub-processors are disclosed in our Privacy Policy per RA 10173 transparency obligations.

Why we built it

My fiancée and I got engaged in September 2025. Our wedding is in October 2026. Thirteen months sounds comfortable by Filipino-wedding standards. I tried every planning tool I could find anyway. Free services. Paid ones. We looked at vendor marketplaces, vendor directories, planning checklists, and Western wedding-website builders that had been recommended to us. Every single tool gave us the same thing: a blank page with a list of empty sections to fill. Thirteen months staring at a blank page is still no plan. We needed something that started somewhere, not something that asked us to invent a wedding from zero.

So we built one that starts somewhere. That is Storia. The AI quiz is the front door. The custom moodboard is the first thing you see. The timeline, the guest list, the paperwork tracker, the budget worksheet, the vendor screener, the wedding website builder, and the Hiraya planning assistant are all stitched together behind the quiz.

The reason we made it AI-driven is that no static template can be your wedding. Filipino weddings vary by cohort, by region, by family. A template that fits a Catholic Manila wedding is wrong for an INC wedding in Iloilo or a Maranao Islamic wedding in BARMM. The AI lets us start somewhere good for each couple, then get out of the way while you make it yours.

What "first AI SaaS wedding-planning platform for the Philippines" actually means

We use that line on the press kit, on this blog, and on a couple of other surfaces. Because the word "first" is a claim a competitor can dispute under the Internet Transactions Act (RA 11967, §7), we wrote down what we mean by it. The full definition is at our AI-first positioning definitional moat in our public governance repository. If a competitor reads this and finds a Philippine product that satisfies all four criteria below and shipped before us, we retract the claim within 48 hours.

The four criteria, in short:

  1. Wedding-specific. Planning a wedding is the primary user task. We are not a general-purpose AI assistant pointed at weddings.
  2. SaaS. Subscription or tier-based access with persistent state and a paid product surface. Not a vendor directory, not a one-off service, not a free template gallery.
  3. AI-driven. The AI is the engine, not a marketing add-on. The personalized output (moodboard, website, timeline) is something a static template could not produce.
  4. Built for the Philippines. Filipino ceremony types, peso pricing, Tagalog and English register, RA 11967 / RA 10173 / RA 7394 compliance, and the cultural context that comes with a wedding here.

PH-local incumbents like WedPlanner.ph (directory + checklist), Bridestory PH (vendor marketplace), Kasal / Kasalank (template-based invitation websites), Wedding.com.ph (directory + blog), BlessedHearts (planner agency), Smile.com.ph (vendor listing), and HirayaWeddings.com (planner service) are excellent at what they do. They are not, however, AI-driven SaaS wedding-planning platforms in the sense above. Most are not SaaS (they are services, directories, or marketplaces). None ship AI-generated personalized planning outputs.

Western tools like Joy, Zola, The Knot, WeddingWire, Wix ADI, and Squarespace AI also do not qualify. The wedding-website builders ship templates, not AI generation. The AI website builders are general-purpose, not wedding-specific. None are built for the Philippine market.

This is the moat. If we are wrong, the moat doc tells you exactly how to prove it.

What you can do with Wedding DNA today

The free quiz is at storia.ph. Five minutes, 10 questions, custom moodboard. You can take it on a phone. You can share the moodboard with your partner before either of you creates an account.

If you book a plan, the AI runs across the rest of the planning surfaces too:

  • Hiraya AI (planning assistant) reads your DNA + your timeline state and gives you the next 3 actions you should take.
  • Layon AI screens wedding vendors against your DNA and budget so you only see fits.
  • Moodboard regenerate lets you reshape the visual after you have lived with it.

Pricing is at storia.ph/pricing. Bronze starts at 4,995 pesos. Couples who book during the founding window get the Founding Member price and the Curated Kit shipped to them.

What it will not do

Storia is built honestly. There are things the AI does not do and we will not pretend it does.

  • It does not write your vows for you in your voice. AI Writer drafts something you can react to. The final words come from you.
  • It is not a vendor. Layon AI screens vendors against your DNA. It does not book them, take payment, or guarantee their work. You contract directly.
  • It does not replace your priest, imam, minister, or Local Civil Registrar. The paperwork tracker tells you what is typically required. The actual processing happens through the proper church or civil channels.
  • It does not work for events outside the Philippines. Filipino-context-only by design.
  • The AI is not perfect. Moodboards sometimes need a regenerate. Layon AI sometimes recommends a vendor outside your area. Hiraya AI sometimes misreads what you need next. We log these and improve quickly, but it is honest to say the product is in active development.

If any of those gaps are dealbreakers, Storia is probably not for you yet. We will tell you the same thing in the welcome email.
